Q: How can I book a massage?

A: There are a couple of options.

You can see my availability, make an immediate booking, and also pay via the client portal, book now.

You can contact me. My reply may go to your spam/junk mail box so please consider adding me to your contacts.

You can also call me on 07908735196 and leave a message. Please note my phone is only on during working hours and I may be with other clients so unable to answer. You can also send an SMS.

Q: What time should I arrive?

A: Please arrive as close to your massage time as possible.

There is a waiting area however it can get quite busy at times as it is the main entrance to the community centre.

Q: What do I need to do before my massage?

A: If this is your first session with me I will send over a client information link which will take you to the client portal. All information you provide is protected and confidential. 

I may also send over a more in-depth form if you are having an aromatherapy massage or more specialist bodywork and I may suggest some relaxation techniques to try before you arrive.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything before your treatment please contact me.

Q: What should I wear for my massage?

A: I will give you privacy to undress before your massage. Most people undress down to underwear but if you feel more comfortable wearing shorts or a bra please let me know as it is no problem. You will be covered with a blanket at all times so no need to worry.

If your session requires a body scan alignment assessment I will let you know. You are advised to dress in shorts/leggings or similar and a sports bra for women. 

For Fascial Unwinding you may wish to remain clothed therefore I recommend wearing something you feel comfortable in.

Q: Is there parking close by?

A: Yes, you can park for free on any of the surrounding roads around the Telegraph Hill Centre and St Catherines Church and on Gibbon Road for sessions at Mica Yoga.

There is no parking allowed in the church yard at the Telegraph Hill Centre.

Please note that there is a driving restriction at the top end of Pepys Road between 8:15am and 9:15am and 2:45pm and 3:45pm.

Q:How do I pay?

A: There are a few options.

You can pay online when you book - there is an option to pay or to pay at the venue so please choose as needed.

You can pay by card, apple/google pay, contactless, cash, PayPal invoice or bank transfer when you arrive for your massage.

You can buy a voucher in the shop or use a gift voucher gifted to you from someone else. When booking online using a gift card please select to pay at the venue.

You can buy Block Bookings at your massage session with card or cash, using PayPal invoice or via bank transfer.

Q: I need to cancel or rearrange my massage, how do I do this?

A: If you booked online you can cancel and rearrange by logging in to your client portal. If you are having problems logging in please contact me and I can try my best to help.

You can also send me an email to cancel or rearrange.

Cancellation policy

You will be sent a reminder email/sms 48 hours your session.

If you are unable to make your appointment, please reply No to this message or cancel your appointment in the client portal. You can also arrange for a more suitable time.

Cancellations made between 48 and 24 hours of the appointment time will not be charged.

Cancellations and rearrangements made between 24 and 12 hours of the appointment will be charged £15.

Cancellations made within 12 hours of your appointment and no shows will be charged full price. I will contact you with how to make a payment.

 

Q: What if I don’t know which massage I need?

A: No worries, just send me an email and we can organise a free consultation to have a chat about what is best for you. 

Q: Should I talk during the massage?

A: This is entirely up to you. If you want to discuss the session as we work, or have any questions during that’s no problem at all but I would suggest allowing yourself to relax as much as you can. 

I am able to support your with some breath-work guidance to help you to relax, if needed. 

If you do wish to drift off that's absolutely fine however I may need you to follow an instruction or do a specific movement from time to time depending on the session.

Q: What if I can’t or don’t want to lay on my front or have my face in the face cradle?

A: No problem, we can figure out a position where you feel happy.

I also am able to provide massage on a chair or on a mat on the floor so please do let me know if this is your preference.

Q: Can I claim for my massage costs on my insurance?

A: Some health insurers allow massage as part of their package. If you contact your insurance provider they will be able to tell you if you can claim. Some insurance companies accept different association memberships so it is good to check.

Q: I have allergies/am a vegan, what products do you use? 

A: All of my Specialist Blends and the products I buy in are vegan.

I use Songbird Vegan Massage Wax in 'Sports', 'Fascial' and 'Women’s Blend' alongside Apricot Kernel Oil, Sweet Almond oil, Jojoba and Avocado oil from Mystic Moments.

Please let me know if you have specific allergies and I can select the right oils for you. 

Q: What if I feel unwell before the massage? 

A: Please let me know as soon as possible. 

Cancellations before 24 hours are not charged but I understand it isn’t always possible. Please do not arrive for massage if you have any of the following contraindications:

High temperature/fever • vomiting • nausea • contagious skin condition • contagious infection • under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs •

Q: What if I feel uncomfortable, ill, upset or anxious during the massage?

A: You are able to stop the massage at any time. Please just let me know. I can give you some time and we can either continue or agree to end the massage early.

Q: Do you do home visits?

I currently only offer home visits to those I see for Oncology Massage who are unable to leave the home. Or under exceptional circumstances.

Q: Do you offer a sliding scale or reduced rate service?

I currently offer block booking options where you can save £5 per hour. 

I offer a £5 discount per session for those working for the NHS.

I have regular offers during the year where I offer certain sessions for a reduced price - sliding scale, pay how much you feel you can afford etc. Please contact me to find out more.
