Soulia Way

An experience and education in embodiment using touch, movement, visualisation, and breath-work.

Most of us go through life existing a short distance from our bodies or even living purely in our heads.

This is not surprising as we live increasingly fast-paced lives that society, and often ourselves, expect from us.

We only really stop when our bodies demand a halt through injury, illness, surgery, or burnout, and even then, we struggle to listen. Wanting quick fixes to ensure we are 'back to normal' as soon as possible, we take what seems like the easiest option.

We have lost our innate ability to connect to our inner language, the language of our body, our tissues, our cells. To notice and navigate with a listening ear, ready to nurture, ready to hear, and to respond to what our bodies are saying.

It is unlikely that we will be able to change external circumstances and this world will be fast paced for longer that we are living in it, but, if we can live more comfortably in ourselves, slow down by choice, listen, and inquire somatically we may find it easier to navigate.

So I invite you to come as you are. This is a space to inquire and shift.

My approach with Soulia Way has grown out of many years of experience, study, and a deep interest in how we move, feel, hold, and generally navigate our way through the journey of life.

Our bodies are continuously changing and adapting to our experiences. Sometimes these adaptations are needed and important, and sometimes they become a hindrance, resulting in pain and disconnect.

I've built a toolbox of techniques to call on so when you are here, I can focus on you, where you are right now.

My techniques are tried and tested but can be molded and adapted to suit you. We are all different, and there is no one-size-fits-all with Soulia Way.

I am here to listen to not only the story you share but also the story your body has to share, to guide and facilitate you in your journey.

I have learned from and studied with, both directly and indirectly, some of the most groundbreaking names in bodywork, light touch therapy,

movement, and anatomy—ideas that are backed by cutting-edge research and scientific study.

“The Soulia Way is not designed to fix but to help and facilitate, hold space, guide and educate you to:

Learn how to hear the language of your body and work with it to support you to navigate this life with a little more ease.

I will always lead with kindness and light and no judgement"

Is Soulia Way Suitable for Me?

Do you want to reconnect with yourself? To live more comfortably and learn how to listen to the language of your body?

Are you ready to commit to 9 hours of bodywork, massage, and meditation in pre-booked sessions, and also to invest time outside of sessions, between 2 and 6 months?

Are you inquisitive and ready to learn more about yourself, somatically?

Are you in a position to commit to a journey of both ups and downs?

What Will Happen in a Session?

This will depend on you, on what your body needs, and where you are currently in your journey.

If you have chronic pain or scars, we will start with this.

I may suggest you book a course of ScarWork or Clinical Massage before commencing the Soulia Way if I feel that is a better way to begin.

As we follow your body and your relationship with it, we will be quite intuitive in the way our sessions unfold, but we will utilise any of the following:

- ScarWork
- Holistic massage techniques
- Clinical massage techniques such as TP, MET, TSTR, STR
- Fascial Release, MFR, Fascial Unwinding, Fascial Hydrating, Positional Release
- Active and passive stretches, oscillations, tractions, and retractions
- Breathwork, guided and spontaneous, with and without sound
- Visualizations and meditations
- Somatic movement
- And more

We may also use props such as Pilates balls, tennis balls, mats, rolls, and bands.

I will spend time off the couch or mat, guiding your education of your own body systems and functions, and send you information outside the sessions. I expect you to dedicate time outside our time together to engage somatically.

Please note this isn’t 9 hours of massage. Massage will be included in the package but isn’t the main focus.

What Can I Expect After a Session?

If your body has gone into release physically, emotionally, or energetically, you may experience some mild aches as you realign and adjust. This should pass, resulting in a more balanced, connected sensation.

You may feel emotional.

I advise refraining from alcohol and strenuous movement for 48 hours after a session. Light movement like gentle yoga, walking, t'ai chi, and qi gong are okay.

This is purely somatic work. I suggest that you receive a talking therapy or EFT alongside if you feel a strong emotional release that doesn’t pass or resolve or that becomes unmanageable.

How Long Are the Sessions?

This will be decided at our consultation and may be subject to change. It is difficult to predict the response of the body, and each of us is different.

I ask you to remain flexible and open to sessions between 45 and 90 minutes. We will always decide the length of the session ahead of time.

Do You Provide Any Additional Support?

I am also able to support you emotionally and physically with aromatherapy during and after these sessions.
