Manual Lymphatic Drainage – MLD

Guidance

Gentle Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Kinesiology taping techniques are used to support and promote the function of the body’s lymphatic system, boost the immune system, aid in detox, reduce swelling and puffiness, help rid the body of anaesthetic post surgery.

Some illnesses, surgery, anaesthesia, reduced fluid intake, and strains and sprains can lead to a congested and struggling lymphatic system causing fluid and toxin build up, less energy, tissue congestion and swelling.

I am happy to provide MLD therapy to support the following conditions:

Glandular Fever, ME, CFS, Fibromyalgia, Long Covid, Migraines, Sinus Problems, Hay Fever, Allergies, Recurring colds, Digestive problems, Stress, Anxiety, Tension, Acne, Rosacea, Puffiness, Scar tissue, Mild swelling or puffiness with no associated co-mobidities.

I am unable to support you with MLD for the following conditions:

Significant lymph node swelling

Any area of the body with full lymph node removal

Post OP

I am happy to provide treatment to support your body to eradicate the effects of anasthetic post op.

A few sessions a week over a couple of weeks is normally recommended, it is also recommend that you receive one treatment before your surgery.

Cancer and mastectomy.

MDL is regularly advised by Doctors, Surgeons and GP’s as a post mastectomy therapy to help reduce oedema (swelling), scar tissue build up, pain and discomfort.

I am happy to support you with oncology massage therapy, however I am unable to treat Oedema, Lymphoedema, those with full lymph removal from an area or post operative cancer patients with MLD. To be able to safely support someone with MLD who has cancer, Lymphedema, full lymph removal or Oedema, requires a therapist to undergo intensive training with a registered Level 3 Vodder Training School.

I am happy to recommend Chantelle Persaud who is a highly trained MLD practitioner.
